I have been getting a lot of requests for, and questions about, Wulf and Batsy Digital Comics.
Global Comix seems to be the new preferred platform for Digital Comics, so I am launching it there.
PRINT VS DIGITAL
I'll be honest, my preferences with comics are very "old school". I was one of those kids of the late 70s and early 80s who bought comics off the spinner rack at 7-11. I will ALWAYS PREFER print comics over digital. But... I don't want to neglect a very large potential audience, either.
I remember many years ago when I was "on the fence" about whether or not to release Wulf and Batsy as Digital Comics. I went to lunch with one of my colleagues. He listened patiently to all my arguments against digital comics, then held up his iPhone and said, "Bryan, there are SIX MILLION of these things out there."
…And convinced me that I was ignoring a huge potential audience. Even if I only reached a fraction of those 6 million iPhone owners.
So, yeah... even as old and "stuck in my ways" as I am... I want everyone to be able to read Wulf and Batsy. Yes, even "these kids today" who insist on reading comics on... their... phones!! UGH!! (SHUDDER WITH DREAD!!!)
THE PLAN:
Issue 1 and 2 are released today. I am thinking I will release two issues a month at least until issue 6 (to get the first two complete story arcs out, by Halloween). Then maybe slow down and release one issue a month starting with issue 7.
Of course, digital-only readers will be way behind fans of print comics, but, oh well, print comics are my priority. And from what I've read, and been told, when it comes to digital content, a consistent schedule of regular releases is a better way to grow a readership, than simply dumping out the entire backlog all at once. People like having something to stay involved with and look forward to future releases.
So there you go.
Awesome!
